2024 has already seen a few new big milestones for Norfolk photographer Joe Lenton.
Firstly, his work was selected to represent the UK in the commercial section of the World Photographic Cup. This prestigious competition pitches international teams against one another, showcasing the very best photography in each genre. Each image has not only the potential of earning further accolades for the individual, its score also counts towards the country’s team total for the overall World Cup. Joe’s already award-winning image of a Skeleton watch was selected as one of the UK Commercial Photography entries. It is a real honour to be chosen to be on the national team and a great opportunity for even more international exposure for Joe’s work.
Secondly, as well as speaking again at The Society of Photographers 2024 international convention, this year Joe was asked to join the judging panel for Finals. It was his second year as an international print judge and being asked to not only judge the entries but also to help pick the overall winners was a great experience as well as a big responsibility.
As if that weren’t enough, Joe has also launched a podcast aimed at professional photographers which features interviews with some of the world’s top photographers. Season 1 has already had some big names featured from the UK, Sweden, and Switzerland. Season 2, coming after Easter, promises to have even more in-depth conversations with fantastic international artists. The Focused Professional Podcast can be streamed using your favourite podcast apps. Topics covered so far include wedding photography, mental health, commercial photography, winning awards and the different motivators that each person has for what they do. The podcast is part of a new mentoring and coaching service for photographers aimed at helping people to create a business that really suits their personality and that can bring greater enjoyment to their work.
